How do you follow up a great quote from Randy Moss on Super Bowl media day?
With more of the same. Tuesday, media day, Moss — a role player with the San Francisco 49ers — told reporters that he considers himself the greatest wide receiver of all time.
Another 49ers great — Jerry Rice — heard what Moss said, and didn’t exactly agree. His take: “I let my body of work speak for itself.”
Wednesday (does media day ever end?), Moss stuck by his quote, telling reporters, “I am not going to sit up here and tell you how to look at it and how to judge it … I do believe in my heart and my mind I am the greatest to ever do it.”
Moss also said that he means no disrespect to Rice.
“If Jerry Rice were to walk through that door … hopefully I think it would be respect instead of disrespect and animosity,” Moss to www.gamedaygold.com. “I don’t have a problem putting my ego aside to give a man love and respect. I really don’t.”
