Rachel Banham, the former Gopher and current member of the Minnesota Lynx, was promoted Monday to assistant coach of the Gophers Women’s basketball team.
New Gophers head coach Dawn Plitzuweit promoted Banham after the Gophers alum re-joined the program last season as director of quality control under former head coach Lindsey Whalen.
Banham will continue to fulfill the director or quality control role on top of her new duties as an assistant coach.
Banham is currently out for the Lynx with a broken thumb. The former Lakeville North star has averaged 5.5 points and 14.5 minutes per game in her fourth season with the Lynx.
