After a run of five weeks as the No. 1 team in the country in both major college hockey polls, the Minnesota Gophers have dropped back to No. 2.
The Gophers were passed in both polls by Quinnipiac. The Bobcats are on an impressive 21 game unbeaten streak (18-0-3).
Minnesota had been the top-ranked team since December 31.
The Gophers have another big WCHA series this weekend against Wisconsin. They’ll host the Badgers at Mariucci Arena on Friday night and play outdoors against the Badgers at Soldier Field in Chicago as part of the Hockey City Classic on Sunday.
