It hasn’t taken the Minnesota Vikings long to begin their search for a new coach.
Reports say ownership and general manager Rick Spielman will meet with Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn Saturday, while Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Bowles will interview for the head coach spot next week.
Quinn is in his first year serving as the defensive coordinator for Seattle, and he previously was their defensive line coach before taking the defensive coordinator position at the University of Florida.
Seattle finished the 2013 regular season best in the league in yards and points allowed, and they go into the playoffs as the No. 1 seed in the NFC.
Bowles is also in his first year as the defensive coordinator for Arizona, serving in the same role for the Eagles last year. In 2011, Bowles got the only head coaching experience of his NFL career, serving as the interim head man for the Dolphins after Tony Sparano was fired 13 games into the year.
The Cardinals finished sixth in the league in yards allowed, and narrowly missed qualifying for the playoffs after finishing 10-6 on the season.
The Purple have also expressed interest in Denver defensive coordinator Adam Gase, though he has said he will put off all interviews until after the playoffs.
Denver is the No. 1 seed in the AFC and are considered the favorite to represent the conference in the Super Bowl.
General manager Rick Spielman has stated that they would like to have a new coach in place by Jan. 25.
