Twins fans will be excited to see former stars Kirby Puckett and Chuck Knoblauch on the list.
We’ll let Jack Buck and Tim McCarver describe Puckett’s catch in game 6 of the 1991 World Series.
Imagine if that throw by Puckett would have doubled-up Terry Pendleton at first-base. The play is already arguably the greatest in World Series history, but a double-play would have made it that much more memorable. Puckett, of course, went on to hit the game-winning home run in the 11th inning.
Knoblauch’s play isn’t quite as revered, but it meant just as much to the Twins beating the Braves in the World Series. He bluffed the Braves out of a run in the eighth inning of game 7 to help Jack Morris and the Twins go down in history.
