With the NFL Draft in the books, there are a lot of fans getting ready for their fantasy football draft. If you’re looking for early advice, Pro Football Focus’s Trevor Sikkema believes that you should draft Jordan Addison.
Sikkema dropped his latest article over the weekend where he made one major takeaway for each team after the NFL Draft. While the article didn’t strictly revolve around fantasy football, Sikkema endorsed Addison as a player that could become the highest-scoring rookie receiver in fantasy football next season.
“With Adam Thielen gone, the Vikings knew they had to make a splash at receiver at some point in the draft,” Sikkema said. “They did so with their first-round pick, and with it they acquired one of the most ready-made route runners the draft had to offer. As a former Biletnikoff Award winner, Addison knows how to handle being the focal point of a passing attack. He should be able to step in right away and take on some or all of the 107 targets Thielen saw on this team last season. “
Sikkema isn’t the only person that believes that Addison can have an immediate impact as the 21-year-old is currently the highest-ranked rookie wide receiver in ESPN’s and SI’s rankings for redraft leagues with point-per-reception scoring (PPR) ahead of next season.
Addison’s value is even better in dynasty leagues as Fantasy Pros and Dynasty League Football has Addison ranked as the No. 2 rookie wideout behind Seattle’s Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
The Vikings selected Addison with the 23rd overall pick in the draft with hopes that he can take pressure off Justin Jefferson in the passing game. With Thielen’s departure and Jefferson drawing attention, Addison could have ample opportunities to produce for the Vikings and keep fantasy owners very happy this fall.
