An improving Minnesota offense hit a road block Tuesday in the form of Ottawa goalie Robin Lehner, who shut out the Wild 3-0 at Xcel Energy Center.
Minnesota had scored four or more goals in six of their last nine games, but Lehner stopped 27 shots off Wild sticks to ensure the Senators their sixth win in their last seven games.
Of Ottawa’s three goals, two came on the power play, one from Clarke MacArthur in the first period, his 16th of the season, and the other delivered by Kyle Turris in the third period to ice the game, his 13th of the campaign.
Erik Condra scored his fifth of the year earlier in the third.
Darcy Kuemper started in net, but even if he stopped every one of Ottawa’s 32 shots Tuesday, it may not have been enough, with Minnesota blanked at home for the first time all year.
The Wild are back at the X Thursday against Edmonton.
