A pair of third period goals from Jason Pominville lifted the Wild to a 2-1 victory in Washington Thursday night.
It was just Minnesota’s second victory in franchise history in Washington and Pominville’s first multi-goal game of the season.
Zach Parise added a pair of assists in the win – his 22nd and 23rd of the season – and Devyn Dubnyk stopped 24 of the 25 shots he faced.
Washington took the early lead in the first period on a power play goal from Curtis Glencross. It marked one of the few times the Wild have trailed since Dubnyk arrived in Minnesota.
The score stayed 1-0 until the third period, when Pominville tied the game with a backhand shot. Parise and Ryan Suter each assisted. Pominville then gave the Wild the lead about five minutes later with his second goal of the period.
