Max Kepler, Jorge Polanco, and Jose Miranda homered as the Twins keep their perfect record against the Royals alive with an 8-6 win Friday night at Target Field.
The Twins busted open the Royals with a four-run, fourth-inning that started off with a Joey Gallo triple and ended the scoring with Jorge Polanco’s three-run blast to open a 7-2 lead.
Kansas City narrowed the lead with a pair of two-run innings in the sixth and seventh as Pablo Lopez gave up a season-high six runs in six innings of work, striking out seven on the way to his second win of the season.
The Royals loaded the bases with two out in the top of the ninth but Jorge Lopez recovered by striking out Nick Pratto after going down 3-0, to record his second save of the season.
