Twins third baseman Trevor Plouffe has been put on the the 7-day disabled list with concussion-like symptoms.
Plouffe was accidentally kicked in the head by Braves second baseman Dan Uggla in the 10th inning of Tuesday night’s game in Atlanta.
Plouffe was trying to break up a double play on a ground ball hit by Ryan Doumit.
Plouffe left the field on his own, but was seen shielding his eyes while in the dugout.
The 7-day disabled list was adopted two years ago to give team doctors and injured players more flexibility to address head injuries.
