Yohan Pino makes his return to the Minnesota Twins on Saturday. Pino will start for the Twins during the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader against the Detroit Tigers.
The move was expected, as Pino will be pitching on regular rest.
Pino, who is 1-5 for the Twins, had another strong performance for Triple-A Rochester on Monday during his last start. He is 10-2 for the Red Wings, this season.

Pino will be the club’s designated 26th man
“He’ll start the first game and [Trevor] May will start the second game,” Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said.
In his Monday night start with Rochester, Pino gave up two runs on three hits in just over seven innings of work. In his last start for the Twins on Aug. 12, Pino struggled as he gave up seven runs in 4 1/3 innings.
According to the Pioneer Press, by rule Pino will be sent back to Rochester after the game.
