The NFL is considering whether to reinstate Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, who was in Minnesota over the weekend, but his trip to the state didn’t seem to involve any business meetings.
The NFL can reinstate Peterson later this week, but the running back’s future is still unclear.
ESPN notes that Peterson declined a request for an interview.
“We’ll see,” Peterson told ESPN when asked if he’d participate in any of the Vikings’ offseason workouts. “I haven’t even been reinstated yet.”
Peterson was preparing to fly back to his home in Texas on Monday, and he sent out this tweet before he left.

Even if the league reinstates Peterson, he may not be coming back to the Vikings.
Peterson’s agent, Ben Dogra, said last month he doesn’t think it’s in Peterson’s best interest to return to the Vikings.
Publicly, the Vikings have said they’re unwilling to trade AP, even after he missed nearly all of last season following accusations of child abuse.
Peterson eventually pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor reckless assault charge, which led to his suspension from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
At the time of the suspension, Goodell set April 15 as the date the league would consider Peterson for reinstatement.
Pro Football Talk notes it’s unclear whether Goodell is convinced that Peterson has done enough to earn reinstatement, though.
ESPN says it’s still unclear how the impasse will be resolved.
