Sports Illustrated’s Andrew Perloff doesn’t think running backs should be considered for the MVP Award, but he does believe Peterson is in line for the NFC Offensive Player of the Year Award.
Peterson told Sports Illustrated’s Peter King that he can still feel scar tissue in his knee breaking up during games. That’s why Peterson thinks he’ll only get better. That’s a good sign for a guy who’s rushed for 629 yards and five touchdowns in the last four games.
Clifton Brown of Sporting News thinks Peterson should win the Comeback Player of the Year Award ahead of Denver quarterback Peyton Manning. And if the Vikings make the playoffs, he writes that Peterson should get strong consideration for NFL MVP.
Adrian Peterson’s 171 yard effort against the Lions was his 32nd career 100 yard game, and fourth straight. That game, along with his 182 yard game in Seattle two weeks ago, rank in the top seven of his highest single game rushing totals in his career.
