ESPN’s weekly investigative news magazine show “E:60” interviewed Vikings running back Adrian Peterson just 10 days after the death of his 2-year-old son in early October.
In the interview, Peterson spoke of how he felt when he first found out about his son in August.
“It was unexpected,” he says in the interview. “Kind of got blindsided and just accepted it for what it was and moving forward… and then a month and a half later I get that phone call… I still haven’t been able to wrap my head around it.”
“I just said I was sorry,” Peterson said when he first saw his son in the hospital. “Didn’t quite know at the time what I was sorry for, but I told him that I loved him.”
Joseph Patterson, 27, has been charged in the murder of Peterson’s son.
