The Minnesota Timberwolves will not have center Nikola Pekovic back when the team returns from the All-Star break on Wednesday night.
The Pioneer Press reports Pekovic didn’t practice on Tuesday and has been ruled out for Wednesday’s game against the Indiana Pacers.
The break came at the right time for the Wolves. Pekovic, Kevin Martin and Kevin Love all missed games during a four-game losing streak.
Minnesota snapped the skid with a win over Denver right before the break.
The break did give Pekovic a chance to progress some. He was out of his walking boot as the team returned for its first practice since the break on Tuesday, according to Star Tribune writer Jerry Zgoda.

Pekovic did not practice on Tuesday, though. He was hurt early in the Wolves 95-86 win over Chicago last month. He has missed the last nine games because of bursitis in his ankle.
Pekovic is averaging 18 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. The Wolves are just 3-6 without him.
Martin will also Wednesday’s game, according to the Pioneer Press. Martin plans to have his broken thumb re-evaluated by a doctor on Friday.
