The San Antonio Spurs rode into Minnesota and whipped the shorthanded Timberwolves 121-92, Friday night at Target Center.
The Spurs built an early lead, then just kept adding to it. By the end of the night six Spurs were in double figures and the Wolves had suffered their worst home loss of the season to this point.
Tony Parker led the way for the Spurs. He was 12-of-18 and scored 28 points. Danny Green added 18, Kawhi Leonard had 14 and Austin Daye had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Minnesota’s cause wasn’t helped by another injury. The Wolves announced earlier in the day that Kevin Martin suffered a fractured wrist in the Wolves win over New York. He will be out indefinitely.
The Wolves were already without Thaddeus Young, who was still missing because of the death of his mother. Ricky Rubio and Nikola Pekovic were also out because of injuries.

The game got out of hand in the third quarter when San Antonio outscored Minnesota 32-14. In the third, Wolves rookie Andrew Wiggins scored nine of his 14 points on the night.
Anthony Bennett led the Wolves with a career-high 20. Mo Williams added 15.
The Wolves (3-8) take on Sacramento on Saturday night at Target Center.
