Josh Harding’s first start since being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis was perfect. He stopped 24 shots en route to a 1-0 shutout win over the Dallas Stars.
The game’s only goal was scored by Zach Parise, his first in a Wild sweater. The goal came on a 4-on-3 power play when he blasted a one-timer from the point into the top right corner of the net.
Pierre Marc-Bouchard and Dany Heatley assisted on the goal.
The shutout over Dallas was the first for Minnesota since blanking them December 17, 2000 — their first trip to the Xcel Energy Center.
It’s the Wild’s first 2-0 start to a season since the 2008-09 team, which started 6-0-1.
