Parise has two goals and four assists through eight games this season.
The Minnesota native has also endured multiple injuries over the last few seasons.
Last year he injured his back and was forced to miss the Wild’s playoff series with the Dallas Stars. The injury was so bad that Parise couldn’t even get out of his own bed.
He opted for rehab this summer instead of surgery and was healthy enough for when the Wild began their regular season.
Coming into the 2016-17 regular season, Parise had missed 35 games over the last three seasons due to injuries.
The Wild will also be without defenseman Marco Scandella who is also nursing a lower-body injury. Scandella has one assist in seven games this season.
Both Parise and Scandella are expected to be out week-to-week with their injuries.
With two players out, Minnesota recalled Tyler Graovac and Chrisoph Bertschy from Iowa.
