Zach Parise notched his tenth and 11th goals of the season to lead the Wild to a 4-2 win over Vancouver Sunday night at Xcel Energy Center. The win gives Minnesota 28 points, which is good for first place in the Northwest Division.
Parise’s first goal put the Wild up 1-0 just 24 seconds into the game. Jason Zucker’s fourth goal of the season put the home team up by two at the 18:31 mark of the first period. The lead would grow to 3-0 with defenseman Jared Spurgeon’s power play goal early in the second period.
The Canucks didn’t go quietly, though. Goals by Chris Higgins and Henrik Sedin cut the Wild’s lead to one goal with 18:58 to play in the third, but Parise’s 11th goal of the season put the Wild up, 4-2.
Minnesota is off Monday before hosting Anaheim on Tuesday.
