The football gods need to rain fury down on the Packers after their team president joked about enjoying a short drive across the border to watch his team in the Super Bowl next season.
Super Bowl 52 is of course being hosted by Minneapolis at U.S. Bank Stadium. During a Packers shareholders meeting on Monday, President Mark Murphy said, “It’s going to be a lot of fun for all of our fans to drive across the state for the Super Bowl.”
Murphy was clearly pumping up the thousands of fans, ahem, “shareholders” that attended the big meeting at Lambeau Field. He later corrected himself by admitting that he’s not exactly predicting the Packers to go to the Super Bowl.
Murphy on #Packers in Minny SB: It was not a guarantee. It would just be nice. The new stadium is spectacular. It will be a great Super Bowl
