It’s the “S” word for the Timberwolves tonight as they take on the Jazz.
And it’s not Super.
It’s Spoiler … as in, Minnesota can deliver some serious pain to Utah’s playoff chances.
Right now the Jazz are trailing the Los Angeles Lakers by one game for the eighth playoff spot in the Western Conference. Utah (41-38) and L.A. (42-37) each have three games remaining — with the Jazz playing the Wolves twice down the stretch.
Heading into Utah, Minnesota (29-49) is riding a two-game losing streak … with Ricky Rubio having major problems on offense. He’s shot a paltry 14.6 percent from the field in the last four games.
The Wolves’ defense is also missing in action, giving up more than 100 points in three straight games.
