The Target Center crowd was sparse for the Timberwolves-Clippers game on Monday night, but that shouldn’t be the case tonight as Kobe Bryant‘s farewell tour stops in Minneapolis for his final game in front of Wolves fans.
What you need to know if your watching or going to the game:
- Expect Kobe to play about 30 minutes; he’s averaging 31 minutes per game
- Expect Kobe to shoot a lot. He’s taking a team-high 17.8 shots per game.
- Expect him to miss a lot of shots. He’s shooting just 30.6 percent from the field.
- Expect a boom or bust performance. He’s scored anywhere from 4 to 31 points in his last eight games.
It’s unclear if the Wolves will give Kobe a parting gift, much like the Twins and every other MLB team did for Derek Jeter in 2014, but other teams have started to give him gifts, including an introduction for the ages from the Pistons.

The Atlanta Hawks honored Kobe by naming a snake at Zoo Atlanta “Kobe.” It’s a black mamba, which is Kobe’s self-given nickname.
Kobe says he doesn’t want gifts or recognition from opposing teams because it’s a distraction from the game, but nobody has listened to him just yet.
