Pro Football Focus is one of the top websites when it comes to football analytics. They pointed out, his “elusive rating” received high scores.
They define the elusive rating as “a runner’s success beyond the point of being helped by his blockers.

Granted, it’s a small sample size (7 carries-40 yards, 1 reception-10 yards.) But that to try to put that rating of 144.6, as awarded by pro football focus, take a look at the last season’s 2016 NFL leaders in the elusive category.
Given the number of plays Cook was evaluated on, its safe to assume his staggering numbers fall back down to earth over the long haul of a season.
However, no matter how you slice it, it’s a heck of an encouraging start for the talented young runner, Dalvin Cook.
