Denver Nuggets 112
Minnesota Timberwolves 100
The Empire struck back Tuesday night as the Denver Nuggets beat the Timberwolves 112-100 on Star Wars night at Target Center.
1. Wiggins good, but not enough
Andrew Wiggins scored 23 points, but not even his best efforts were enough to help the Wolves when Denver finished the night shooting 56 percent.
Wiggins finished the night 9-of-17 from the floor.
2. Nuggets bench leads the way
Denver’s bench did most of the damage in the Nuggets victory. They outscored Minnesota’s 53-38. The Nuggets reserves posted a plus/minus efficiency rating of +52 on the night.
Will Barton had 14 points off the bench in the victory.
3. Foye feeling it against former team
The biggest thorn in Minnesota’s side off the Nuggets bench was a former Timberwolves player. Randy Foye killed his former team.
Foye connected on 5-of-5 from the three-point line, finishing with a season high 19 points. Sending a strong message that first traded for him, they traded him away as part of the deal that brought Rubio to Minnesota.
Foye with another three-pointer. He's 5-for-5 from long range. Somebody's fired up about returning to Minnesota. #Twolves trail 58-41
