With the home ice set to be melted away for good, the Minnesota Wild brought season ticket holders into the Xcel Energy Center Wednesday to paint.
The team’s second annual Paint the Ice event featured notes of appreciation, shout-outs to certain players, and even a small jab at the team that ended Minnesota’s season.
The Wild held the event for the first time last year, bringing out about 450 season ticket holders.
Carly Peters, a media relations specialist with the Wild, said at the time it’s essentially a last hurrah for the ice before it gets taken out and melted for good. Click here to see some of last year’s art.
The Minnesota Wild put up a gallery on their website.
