NFL power rankings.
Take ’em for what they’re worth.
Some football experts have the Minnesota Vikings as high as No. 13 heading into the preseason slate. One outfit has the Purple way down at No. 26 — out of 32.
Here’s a quick look, heading into Friday’s game against Houston:
The Bleacher Report has Minnesota at No. 13. They say GM Rick Spielman hit a “home run in the draft,” but QB Christian Ponder has been “uneven to say the least.”
Newsday has the Vikings at No. 14, putting all the pressure on Ponder.
CBSSports.com has the Purple at No. 19 right now. They wonder if a robust passing game can “become a reality.”
Yahoo!Sports put the Vikings at No. 20. They say if the rookies come through, Minnesota could return to the playoffs.
TheNationalFootballPost seems to have the least regard for Leslie Frazier and company. Writer Joe Fortenbaugh lists the Vikes at No. 26. As he puts it: “Check out the quarterbacks Minnesota has to face this season. Brutal.”
