Vikings defensive tackle Kevin Williams MRI results have come back with some encouraging news, and information that could’ve been much worse.
Per #Vikings coach Leslie Frazier, Kevin Williams has hyperextended knee, bone contusion and posterior capsular strain. No ligament damage.

Williams left the Vikings third preseason game last night under his own power but very gingerly after being blocked low by San Francisco tackle Joe Looney.
“I think I’m fine. I was just upset that I’m getting cut like that 11 years in from a guy I don’t even know who the guy is,” Williams told the Pioneer Press after the game. “Between the pain and the fact that no one was looking it was terrible.”
Vikings defensive end Jared Allen wasn’t afraid to say how he felt about the cheap shot either.
Williams is questionable for the first week of the regular season against Detroit, and will sit out the last game of the preseason, which probably would’ve been the case regardless of the injury.
I'm told Kevin Williams' availability for Week 1 at this point is questionable. Frankly, with how bad it looked, #Vikings will take that.
