In a Hall of Fame year clouded with controversy and disappointment for St. Paul native and Twins hero Jack Morris, greener pastures may be ahead in his home state.
Morris, who appeared on 61 percent of ballots to get him to the Cooperstown, 14 percent short if the number he needed to get the Hall call, is reportedly in discussions with the Twins about rejoining their broadcast team.
The Star Tribune reported it first, quoting team president Dave St. Peter, who said “we certainly hope we can reach an agreement, we have a great interest in making Jack a part of Twins broadcasts again.”
Morris has been working in Toronto with the Blue Jays as part of their broadcast team after serving as a member of Minnesota’s stable of announcing talent for eight years.
The interest from the Twins likely is heightened by the departure of former Minnesota All-Star Ron Coomer, who left his post on the Twins TV broadcast last month to become the new color analyst for the Chicago Cubs radio broadcast.
