Three third-period goals lifted the Gophers over North Dakota, 5-1 at Mariucci Arena Friday night. UND scored the first goal of the game before Minnesota dominated the final two periods with five straight goals.
Freshman goalie Adam Wilcox had another great game for the Gophers, stopping 24 of 25 shots.
Zach Budish, Ben Marshall, Nate Schmidt, Nate Condon and Erik Haula scored for Minnesota.
With the win, combined with a St. Cloud State win over Denver, the Gophers move into first place in the WCHA standings with 21 points.
