The NHL Players’ Association has approved a realignment plan that could go into effect next season.
The NHL recently proposed a plan that would maintain two conferences — Eastern and Western — reducing the numbers of division from six to four. The Wild will be in the Midwest Division with Chicago, Colorado, Dallas, Nashville, St. Louis and Winnipeg.
The next hurdle to clear before the plan becomes official is clearing the NHL Board of Governors, which the Pioneer Press reports won’t take long.
