In a unanimous decision, the NHL Board of Governors voted to ratify the new collective bargaining agreement on Wednesday. The players will likely ratify via vote by Friday or Saturday. The Star Tribune reports training camps will open Sunday and the season will begin January 19.
Per the report, the Wild is hoping the NHL will accomodate them to begin the season at home on Hockey Day Minnesota (January 19).
On Wednesday NHL commissioner Gary Bettman had a message for the fans: “I’m sorry.”
Here’s what our very own Eric Perkins thought of the apology.
As disengenuous I believe Gary Bettman is for his NHL apology….. I'd rather him say he's sorry than NOT say it

On the ice it looks like the Wild’s top line will feature Mikko Koivu centering Zach Parise and Dany Heatley. The second line will probably have Finnish phenom Mikael Granlund centering Pierre Marc-Bouchard and Devin Setoguchi.
The only player missing from an informal practice held by the players Wednesday was Zenon Konopka, who is expected to arrive on Thursday.
