Here’s the deal: The NHLPA’s executive board voted to allow members to vote on giving the board the authority to file a disclaimer of interest. Not sure what that means? Neither are we. That’s why we’ll allow ProHockeyTalk.com explain what happened.
When the NHL found out the players’ association was thinking of doing such a thing, they filed a Class Action complaint in a federal court. It should be noted that the NHL is responding very similarily to the way the NBA did when a similar action was performed by the NBA Players’ Association during the 2011 lockout — and two weeks later they were playing basketball.
