Watt played through a barrage of injuries last season and underwent back surgery in July.
The Wisconsin native has won the NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award in back-to-back years and has taken home the award three times in his six-year career.
Watt’s injury could be a break for the Vikings, who play the Texans on Oct. 9 at U.S. Bank Stadium. Through three games this season, Watt has eight total tackles and 1.5 sacks. The Texans are 2-1 this season and in first place in AFC South.
