UPDATE #2: The Vikings have confirmed they will pick 48th.
UPDATE: Vikings team reporter Eric Smith says there was confusion about the coin flip and the NFL forgot to include the Baltimore Ravens in the mix of teams that tied with 8-8 records.
Smith and the Vikings have since deleted their tweets, but we screen-capped them. In a statement from the Vikings, they are waiting for final word from the NFL, but they believe they will pick 48th.
Even the Vikings were convinced they were picking 47th.

A coin can’t run a 40-yard dash or bench press 225 pounds. But a coin can flip, or help pay for a Mountain Dew or something else refreshing, sugary and delicious.
But, like, the most serious coin flip in NFL history played out Friday morning in Indianapolis between the Vikings and Colts. It was billed as the “Positioning Coin Flip” to determine which team got the better draft picks. Seriously, they gave the bleeping coin flip a title.
Anyway, the Vikings won the flip, meaning they got the better first-round pick – No. 14 instead of No. 15 – and the lower pick, No. 47 overall, in the second round. Basically, they won the flip but lost because the they traded their first-round pick to the Eagles in the Sam Bradford trade.
The Vikings and Colts will alternate picks in rounds 3-7.
Vikings, Colts (8-8) will flip selections through rounds, so a coin flip loss would've produced the earlier 2nd rounder https://t.co/DVYwqRo8Ig

The Vikings’ picks are:
- 2nd round: 47 overall
- 3rd round: 79 overall; 86 overall (via Miami)
- 4th round: 121; 129 overall (via Miami)
- 5th round: 160 overall
- 6th round: 199 overall
- 7th round: 232overall
The Vikings created a dramatic preview video of the flip and the Colts actually did a Facebook Live of the event. You can watch those in the videos below.
