When the clock strikes 3 p.m. today the NFL world could explode. It’s the first day of free agency and the rumors about some of the NFL’s best players ready to hit the open market are very interesting.
Two players we’ll be watching until they ink new contracts are Vikings defensive linemen Jared Allen and Kevin Williams, both of whom are set to hit the open market. While it’s a foregone conclusion that Allen won’t re-sign with the Vikings, he’s one of the all-time fan favorites in Minnesota, so we’ll be tracking where he goes next.
Allen, who has indicated he wants to be play for a contender in 2014, could get his wish if reports linking him to the Denver Broncos are true.
Source close to the situation would be "shocked" if Jared Allen doesn't end up with the Denver Broncos.

Jared Allen said in recent radio interview "If you can play for one of the top 5 quarterbacks that makes life easier’’ I'd say Peyton top 5

A.J. Mansour of KFAN.com wrote a compelling piece on Allen, saying if the price isn’t right, don’t be surprised if Allen decides to retire.
Defensive tackle Kevin Williams is closer to the end of his career than the beginning, but the big question is whether he’ll finish his career with the Vikings. In an interview with the Pioneer Press, Williams said he’s open to staying in Minnesota.
“I wouldn’t rule it out,” Williams said. “I would like to come back, but I’ll have to see if it’s a fit for both of us. I talked to Rick (Spielman) a couple of times and he said he wants me back. I have to see what the coaching staff is going to want.”
The 33-year-old Williams has been named to six Pro Bowls during his 11-year career in Minnesota.
