In a bit of a stunner, Everson Griffen was featured Monday night as one of the 20 best players in the NFL on NFL Network’s Top 100 Players of 2018 show.
Griffen was voted by NFL players as the 19th-best player, just ahead of Saints star rookie running back Alvin Kamara and right behind the likes of Ben Roethlisberger, Jalen Ramsey, Khalil Mack and Rob Gronkowski.
It’s a meteoric rise for Griffen, who was ranked 92nd on last year’s top 100 list. Adrian Peterson and Jared Allen are the only other Vikings to make the top 20.

With 13 sacks last season, Griffen was tied for fourth in the NFL, trailing only Dallas’ DeMarcus Lawrence (14.5), Jacksonville’s Calais Campbell (14.5) and Arizona’s Chandler Jones (17).
The Vikings have seven players in the top 100 from last year’s division-winning team, eight if you include Kirk Cousins, who made the list after playing for Washington.
The eight: Adam Thielen (36), Harrison Smith (46), Case Keenum (51), Xavier Rhodes (55), Stefon Diggs (65), Linval Joseph (83), Kirk Cousins (94).
