The Detroit Lions, with the 5th overall pick, selected BYU defensive end Ziggy Ansah.
Instant reaction, via the Detroit Free Press: “The Lions’ drafting of defensive end Ezekiel (Ziggy) Ansah and his scarily limited football experience with the fifth overall selection represents a continuation of the same old question: Are the executives and coaches in this organization instinctively wired to put themselves in peril of being fired?”
The Chicago Bears, with the 20th overall pick, selected Oregon guard Kyle Long.

During his teleconference with the local media Jones invoked the name of former Packers great Reggie White. Scouts also say Jones has a strong work ethic.In other words, Jones could be a perfect fit in Green Bay.”
