Minnesota Twins designated hitter Nelson Cruz will represent the team in the 2021 MLB All-Star Game, marking his seventh appearance in the Midsummer Classic.

In a season where a lot of things have gone wrong for the Twins, Cruz has continued to hit. The 41-year-old is hitting .306/.381/.571 with 18 homers this season and has been a force in the middle of the Twins’ lineup.
While Cruz will be heading to Coors Field representing the Twins it remains to be seen how long he’ll be in a Minnesota uniform.
Trade rumors have swirled around Cruz as the Twins have fallen out of contention in the American League Central. With contending teams looking to add offense, Cruz could be a target for several teams that want to upgrade at designated hitter.
For now, Cruz joins an American League reserve unit that will also include Mike Zunino (TB), Jose Altuve (HOU), Bo Bichette (TOR), Carlos Correa (HOU), Matt Olson (OAK), JosĂ© RamĂrez (CLE), Jared Walsh (LAA), J.D. Martinez (BOS), Michael Brantley (HOU), Joey Gallo (TEX), Adolis GarcĂa (TEX), Cedric Mullins (BAL) and Shohei Ohtani (LAA).
The MLB All-Star Game will be played on July 13 in Denver, Colo.
