Twins slugger Nelson Cruz has been activated from the 10-day injured list and is penciled into the lineup to bat third against the White Sox Monday night.
Cruz was placed on the 10-day injured list after feeling pain in his wrist during a game against Cleveland Aug. 8, with the Twins learning a day later that he actually suffered a ruptured extensor carpi ulnaris (ECU) tendon in left wrist.
Fortunately, Cruz was pain-free a day after the injury and all tests revealed that he wouldn’t need surgery. He was taking batting practice with the Twins in Milwaukee and Texas, so he should be ready to go full speed at home against Chicago Monday night.
Cruz has been a machine at the plate since June 1, whopping a stunning 25 homers and driving in 54 runs. His 32 homers are one fewer than Max Kepler, who leads the team with 33.
The Twins and White Sox start at 7:10 p.m. Monday. Here’s the batting order, which doesn’t include Max Kepler, who left Sunday’s game in Texas with heat-related illness.

- Nelson Cruz, DH
