A 20-2 run to open the second half was the difference maker as Nebraska beat the Gophers 74-50 in women’s hoops in Lincoln Tuesday night.
The Huskers led by four (32-28) at the half, but erased any hopes Minnesota had of stealing a road win during the early moments of the second half with the big run.
Natalie Romeo led Nebraska with 21 points, while Emily Cady chipped in 17.
The Gophers struggled to make much happen offensively. Minnesota was just 18-of-61 (29.5 percent) from the floor.
Shae Kelley led the Gophers. She finished with a double-double of 17 points and 13 rebounds. It was a quiet night for Amanda Zahui B. The ESPNW Player of the Week was held to just 12 points and six boards for Minnesota.
The Gophers (22-7, 11-6) finish the regular season on Sunday at Iowa.
