The NCAA men’s hockey tournament bracket was unveiled Sunday night and the Gophers received the No. 1 seed in the West Regional. We have a preview of all four regions, which include six teams from the WCHA.
In the West Regional, Minnesota will play Yale in the Round of 16 on Friday at 1:00 p.m. in Grand Rapids, Michigan. North Dakota — the No. 2 seed — will follow the Gophers with a game against Niagara.
The Gophers are the No. 2 overall seed, behind Quinnipiac.
Notre Dame received the No. 1 seed in the Midwest Regional. The Irish will play fourth seed St. Cloud State at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Toledo, Ohio. No. 2 seed Miami will play third seed Minnesota State in the second game.
Wisconsin and Denver were given the third and fourth seeds in the Northeast Regional. The Badgers, which won the WCHA tournament, play No. 1 seed Massachussetts-Lowell at 3:30 p.m. Friday. The second game features Denver against No. 2 seed New Hampshire.
Quinnipiac, which battled Minnesota for the No. 1 ranking in the country over the second half of the season, received the top seed in the East Regional.
