Power forward Rakeem Buckles has been denied a transfer waiver from Florida International University to the University of Minnesota by the NCAA.
The Gophers plan to appeal the decision, according to the Associated Press.
Buckles played three seasons at Louisville under Pitino’s father, Rick. But he suffered two torn ACLs and sat out last season after transferring to FIU.
