The back-and-forth the Minnesota Wild has played with Jason Zucker is starting to resemble something the Minnesota Vikings do with quarterbacks.
One day he’s playing in the NHL and the next day he’s suiting up for the Wild’s minor league affiliate in Des Moines, Iowa.
The Star Tribune reported Friday that Zucker is indeed on his way back to the Iowa Wild in the AHL. Taking his place on the professional roster is former Gopher Erik Haula.
Haula was promoted to the team on Nov. 29, only to be sent back down and replaced by Zucker earlier this week. Now he’s back after scoring a pair of goals at Iowa on Thursday night. He has two assists in six career NHL games, according to Wild.com.
According to ESPN’s transactions chart, Zucker has been sent from the Wild to the minors four times this season. He was recalled Nov. 20, Nov. 28 and Dec. 10. His latest stay lasted just two games, and he was inactive for last night’s loss at San Jose.
The Wild is off Friday before closing out a three-game road trip in Colorado on Saturday. Minnesota lost the first two games in Anaheim and San Jose.
