The mother of Adrian Peterson’s son said Wednesday that she agrees with the terms of a plea agreement the Vikings exiled running back agreed to in Texas over the whipping of their child.
Attorney Kelly Dohm, of Waconia, released a statement for the unidentified woman on Wednesday.

Peterson pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor count of reckless assault on Tuesday. He was fined $4,000, ordered to serve two years of probation and perform 80 hours of community service.
Peterson’s playing status remained uncertain on Wednesday. Neither the Vikings nor the NFL have commented on when or if Peterson will be allowed to play again, or if he would face an additional fine or suspension from the league.

AP is hoping the NFL will decide soon. His attorney, Rusty Hardin, told Pro Football Talk Peterson hopes to be on the field when the Vikings (4-5) play at Chicago on Nov. 16.
“It takes only an airplane trip to do it,” Hardin said. “I’m hoping that can be done quickly and I’m hoping the NFL is receptive to it and agrees to it and get this issue off the front page, because it’s time for him to go back and…play football.”
A league source told ESPN’s Ed Werder that several steps still must take place before NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell make a final determination, though.
According to ESPN those steps include:
- Examining the court documents and police record of Peterson’s case
- Convening experts in domestic violence and substance abuse (since Peterson admitted to using marijuana)
- Holding a hearing with Peterson and the NFL Players Association.
- Consulting with the Vikings and the union
- Applying the personal conduct policy as amended in August, making Peterson the first player to whom the six-game suspension is applied
Peterson has not played since his indictment in September over the incident, in which the star running back was accused of whipping his four-year-old son with a switch.
