The Super Freak Randy Moss thinks the Vikings have a chance to win the NFC North this season.
In a conference call with the Star Tribune, Moss, now with FOX Sports 1, said the Packers are the best team in the division, but the Vikings could challenge them.
“I think the Minnesota Vikings have a good shot with contending with Green Bay for the division. Green Bay is very strong, and really nobody in that division should be able to compete with them,” Moss said, according to the report. “But Minnesota has been steady on defense. They’ve made some acquisitions at wide receiver. And, of course, you know the MVP [Adrian Peterson]. It’s really on [Christian] Ponder. If I could pick any of the three, it would be the Minnesota Vikings, depending on the year Ponder has. I think coach Leslie Frazier will have them ready.”
The acquisitions Moss mentioned are Greg Jennings, who the Vikings signed from Green Bay via free agency, and Cordarrelle Patterson, who the Vikings picked with the No. 29 selection in April’s NFL Draft.
The first big step to winning the division comes Sunday in Detroit where the Vikings play the Lions. Check out our game preview right here.
