Fu-Manchu moustache. Monster production in May.
Is that a coincidence for Justin Morneau?
In the past 12 games, and roughly the same time he’s sported that ‘stache (that we’ve noticed), Morneau is hitting .375 with 17 RBI’s. Last night against Chicago, Morneau knocked in four runs in the Twins 10-3 win giving him 28 on the year and sixth in the American League.
We realize Morneau only has two home runs so far — and none so far in May — but maybe some of those rockets he’s hitting to right field will get some elevation in the days ahead.
As for the Fu-Manchu…not bad. Not as great as the one Aaron Rodgers was showing off a few years ago:
Same with ex-Twin Kenny Landreaux, who wore it well:
Morneau’s is certainly better than Nick Blackburn’s let-the-cat-lick-it-off attempt:
So how other Twins look with a Fu Manchu? Here’s a few (really unprofessionally rendered) looks:
Killebrew? Nope…
Mauer? Nope…
Morneau? As long as he keeps hitting…
