The Pirates remain one win away from advancing to the NLCS after getting stymied by Michael Wacha and the Cardinals in game 4 of the NLDS, 2-1 Monday in Pittsburgh.
Wacha had a no-hitter broken up in the eighth inning when Pedro Alvarez launched a solo home run to right center.
That, however, would be the only hit the Pirates would muster the entire game.
Ex-Twin Justin Morneau was 0-3, but his consolation prize can be the fact that he gets to go home knowing he was the only Pirate that played the full game and didn’t strike out.
It’s all about the little victories for us, Minnesota. Positive thoughts for positive people (and Twins fans).
Game 5 is Wednesday in St. Louis.
