The always calm Joe Mauer was nothing short of a nervous wreck when he found out his wife, Maddie, was going into labor Tuesday night.
According to the Star Tribune, Mauer was pacing around the clubhouse as he anxiously awaited confirmation of a flight to get him back to the Twin Cities before his twin daughters were born.
“That was the most nervous I’ve ever seen him,” Justin Morneau said.
Mauer, luckily, arrived at the hospital 30-minutes before his wife gave birth to Emily and Maren.
Mauer was placed on the paternity list Wednesday, which allows players 24-72 hours to leave the team.
