Make it two consecutive weeks that a Golden Gopher basketball player is the Big Ten Player of the Week in men’s basketball.
Andre Hollins won the award for his play two weeks ago, and on Monday, the conference named Mo Walker its Player of the Week after a pair of outstanding performances in Minnesota’s victories over North Dakota and Southern. The University of Minnesota’s athletics department notes that Walker averaged 16.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 1.5 steals per game in the two wins, including a career-high 22-point night against North Dakota, the Star Tribune says.
For the season, Walker is averaging 11.2 points and 5.3 rebounds, according to FOX Sports North.

Here’s a blast from the past that will spark some emotion. The last time the Gophers won Player of the Week awards on back-to-back weeks was in 2002 when Travares Bennett and Rick Rickert each won.
The Gophers return from a nine-day break for finals with a home game versus Seattle University on Friday night.
