The Gopher football team will be without senior quarterback Mitch Leidner on Saturday when they host Rutgers University at TCF Bank Stadium.
Leidner suffered a concussion against Iowa on Oct. 8 and has been on the concussion protocol list since last week.
In head coach Tracy Claeys’ weekly appearance on his Sunday Night Overtime show on Facebook, he spoke about Leidner making progress in his injury, but there is still no timetable for his return.
Redshirt Junior Conor Rhoda started in Leidner’s place against Maryland last Saturday in their 31-10 win. It was Minnesota’s first Big Ten win of the season.
Rhoda didn’t have to do too much in the win as he completed just 7-15 passes for 82 yards, with the Gophers’ running game carrying the offense.
The Gophers will kick off with Rutgers this Saturday at 11 a.m. This weekend is also homecoming at the University of Minnesota.
